These terms are the agreement between you and the operator of SapphicTides ("we", "us"), covering your use of the SapphicTides app and website. By creating an account you agree to them. They're written to be read.
SapphicTides is built and operated from Canada by its founder. A Canadian company is currently being incorporated to operate it; when that completes these terms will name it, and the company will assume them. Nothing about your rights changes.
You must be at least 13 years old, or 16 if you're in the EU or UK. If you're under the age of majority where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission.
One account per person. You're responsible for keeping your password and your recovery key safe, and for anything done through your account.
SapphicTides is a one-time purchase through the App Store or Google Play. There is no subscription. The purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app.
Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us — we can't issue them directly. If something's wrong, email support@sapphictides.com and we'll try to help before you go to the store.
Everything you write in the app is encrypted on your device before it reaches us, with a key that never leaves your devices. We cannot read it. That's a property of how the app is built, not a policy we could change quietly.
The practical consequence is unavoidable: if you and the person you've paired with both lose the recovery key, your entries cannot be recovered by anyone. We show you that key during setup and it stays available in settings. Please save it somewhere real.
What we do with the little we can see is set out in the Privacy Policy and the Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy, both of which form part of these terms.
When you pair with someone, you're choosing to share. Entries you write after pairing are visible to the person you paired with. Entries you wrote before pairing stay private unless you explicitly choose to share them, and notes you've locked stay private regardless.
Please only pair with someone you trust. We can't un-share something once it's been shared, and we can't mediate between two people who share an account space.
SapphicTides is a wellness and journalling tool. It is not a medical device, does not diagnose, treat or prevent any condition, and must not be used as contraception or as a fertility aid.
Cycle predictions are estimates calculated from the history you log. They can be wrong, and they're more likely to be wrong if your cycle is irregular, if you've recently given birth, or if you're on hormonal medication. The phase, food and seed-cycling content is general wellness information. The astrology is offered as folklore, for reflection.
Nothing in the app replaces a doctor. If something about your body worries you, please talk to one.
We may suspend or close an account that does these things. Where we can, we'll tell you why first.
We'll try to keep the service running, but we don't promise it will always be available or uninterrupted. We may change or discontinue features. If we ever shut the service down entirely, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and time to export your data.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential losses, for lost data, or for any decision you make based on what the app shows you. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to what you paid for the app.
Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. Some jurisdictions don't allow certain exclusions, and in those places this section applies only as far as it's permitted.
You can delete your account at any time from Settings, or through this page. Deletion is immediate and permanent. If you're the last person in a shared space, everything in it is deleted with your account.
If we change these terms in a way that materially affects you, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect. Continuing to use the app after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of Canada and of the province in which SapphicTides is operated. Nothing stops you bringing a claim in your local consumer tribunal if the law where you live gives you that right.
